Tire blowout leads to fatal car accident in Atlanta
News: Kansas City Wrong-Way Collision Leaves 3 Seriously Injured A local Kansas City car accident leaves two men battling serious injuries following a head-on collision. The motor vehicle accident occurred on I-435 in Claycomo when a woman was driving southbound in the northbound lanes and struck the women’s car. Kayla L. Wiechmann is only 26 and her condition is extremely critical. Krissamarie L. Wiechmann is only 22 and suffered serious injuries but is showing some improvement. The driver that struck the Wiechmann vehicle is 33 and sustained internal bleeding. It is reported that he drove the wrong way on I-435 for 3 or more miles. Officers had received several calls but could not get there in time to prevent the collision. At this time it is unknown whether alcohol was involved. This incident is one that occurs all too often. Between 1996 and 2000, there were more than 1,700 fatalities arising out of wrong-way collisions on freeways. There were thousands more injuries. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration revealed that wrong-way collisions account for 1.5 of all fatal traffic accidents. Studies have shown that ½ to ¾ of wrong-way collisions involve a driver who was under the influence. The most common wrong-way traffic accidents involve a driver who travels the wrong way on an exit ramp onto the freeway. If you or a loved one has suffered serious injuries due to a negligent driver traveling the wrong direction causing a head on-collision, contact the Kansas City car accident attorneys at Castle Law Office for a consultation at 816-283-0303 to find out how we can fight for the compensation you deserve. Tire blowout leads to fatal car accident in Atlanta A blown tire was to blame for a fatal car accident on I-20 in Atlanta on Oct. 8, according to news reports. A tire blew out on a car driven by Anoa Sulaiman, 25, who was operating a 1995 Lexus GS300 on the interstate, according to Atlanta police. Sulaiman’s car swerved and collided with a 2003 Ford Expedition. Christopher Saladrigas, 27, a rear passenger, was ejected from the Expedition and died, according to news reports. No charges have been filed yet and it’s unclear what caused the tire to blow out. No other injuries were reported in the accident. Atlanta personal injury lawyer Gary Martin Hays, of the Law Offices of Gary Martin Hays & Associates, P.C., said: “While the cause of the blowout is not known in this particular car accident, a blown tire may be the result of a manufacturing defect, and the manufacturer of a tire may be negligent. However, in some cases, the driver may be negligent for failing to replace an old, unsafe bald tire. Drivers should routinely inspect their tires to make sure they have enough tread. Hopefully, this accident will be fully investigated. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family of the accident victim who lost his life.” Read the Full Story
